World premiere at the Munich Film Festival

Jennifer, 17, for whom gaming has always been part of everyday teenage life, feels uncomfortable and lonely. Having recently moved with her parents Frank and Ariane, she can't really make friends with her new classmates. Hooked by the virtual reality game "Avalonia," gaming gradually becomes her lifeblood. Jennifer neglects her school and family obligations. She ignores all admonitions, restrictions and prohibitions for every precious second of play and betrays her parents. Only the secret, excessive immersion in the virtual fantasy world of "Avalonia" seems to make Jennifer happy. In the process, her life gets completely out of balance between the real and virtual worlds.*

 

With the feature film Play by Sappralot Productions and Tellux next, we had the opportunity to extend our experience in the gaming sector to the film industry. The youth drama was commissioned by BR and Degeto for ARD and had its world premiere at the Munich Film Festival last week, on July 29. The official premiere broadcast is scheduled for September 11, 2019 at 8:15 pm on Ersten.
